Fall Décor

Even though summer has come to an end and your pool has its safety pool cover on, the fall weather is still comfortable enough to be outdoors. You can view the autumn colors in the falling leaves, take a deep breath of crisp fall air, and add some layers to ward off the chill. Here are some fall decorating ideas to make you want to stay outdoors!

Decorate your porch with some pumpkins, squashes, and gourds. They come in many colors, shapes, and sizes. Add some dry cornstalks and Indian corn around the porch posts. You can buy a seasonal wreath to hang on the door, or make one of your own out of fall foliage and some wheat husks. If you are already thinking about Halloween, add a wreath with a spooky theme. Scarecrows and hay bales are some other creative fall additions to contemplate.

Why not add some unique lighting to the backyard in the form of mason jars and tealights? Hang some Halloween- or Thanksgiving-themed lights for a festive look! You could also keep things simple by replacing a standard bulb with a red, orange, or yellow color for a creepy Halloween effect.

If your outdoor space is larger, consider an outdoor living room. The pergola can double as a roof, and bricks or pavers can serve as the floor. Complete this “room” with some tables and cozy outdoor furniture.

If you enjoy observing wildlife, placing a bird feeder in the yard is a wonderful way to unwind with a cup of hot cider or coffee. Birds of all colors and sizes will provide hours of entertainment as they excitedly eat. A wicker chair, comfy couch, or hammock will enhance your birdwatching experience.

As the days—and nights—grow chillier, you may want to add a fire pit. Make sure it is at a safe distance from the pool. It will warm your family and friends, and create a soft glow in your gorgeous fall backyard! You can also keep warm with a hot tub or spa. Add a grill and you can indulge in some outside dining.

Even though no one is swimming, your LOOP-LOC covered pool is still the centerpiece of the backyard. No matter what color it is—blue, gray, tan, black, beige, or green—the cover still complements all the colors found in the flowers and shrubs that are planted in the fall. Select your mums, ornamental cabbages, and marigolds carefully to enhance the pool cover. Choose from yellow, orange, red, pink, bronze, or purple. These beautiful blooms can be planted all around the yard. You can fill some planters with them to line the walkways, too.

Fall provides another opportunity to enjoy your backyard. Some soft cushions, pillows, and blankets in autumn colors and patterns will also help transform your backyard—and signal a change in season. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!
